I have just bought the plans, but now I am starting to rethink this box, because its just damn huge ::)
The wife-factor just gets to small.. Angry

However, this can be solved by lying the box on the floor behind the coach. (its 100cm space between the coach and the wall because the back surround speakers)

But how will this box perform when its lying on the floor?
I guess it's designed to stand up..
Anyone tryed to lay the box? how will it perform compared to standing?
Does the ports need any change, if so wich changes?

Experiment with firing the "double barrels" into the back of the couch, straight up, or aimming at the wall behind. Interesting results with all, I'm sure. Just keep an eye for that kitty cat hiding out in the big port. (Just don't tell P.E.T.A. what happened ) Bob

I have a HWK10 and HWK15 (Series IIs). Both are lying(on there sides) behind the couch and work excelllent. The most common reason I have found for laying the HWKs on there side is due to the "sag" factor of the speaker. My friend has the HWK12 with Kickers and it does not seem to matter which way you put it in the room it sounds awesome. This is where I found some info on the "sag" factor http://www.partsexpress.com/resources/downfire.html. I would haft to build it regardless. I know you will not be disappointed with the results.

60ndown Ex Member	Re: 2 x Kicker 15" in HWK & Placement Reply #4 - 12/20/06 at 01:29:33 id put a grill over any holes a cat could get into, you could seriously hurt the cat if you were to play a hwk while the cat was in the box. easy to get some wire mesh and make it safe for kitty.
