3-way Jensen system in Decware Imperial
01/27/06 at 11:28:34

Am running Jensen RP302-RP201-P15LL system in Jensen original Imperial design enclosure but less than satisfied with the bass. Could anyone share his insight whether Decware enclosure would be a big help in this and how a single woofer should be installed(just in the center or else where)?
Thanks and all the best to everyone on Imperial.

Steve made a lot of changes to the design. Most had to do with addtional bracing and overall strength, and increasing the volume of the chamber behind the drivers to accomodate the pair of modern 15" drivers. Your P 15 won't want that much space but you can always fill it up with something after building to preserve the possibility of putting two modern drivers or an 18" at a later date. I have a pair of old Jensen 15" coaxials. They sound pretty good (only tested in open air so far) but a modernish JBL is much more impressive.

Go ahead and build the new box but be prepared to want new drivers at the end. Best of luck in any case.

How do you like the RP302 & RP201?  I have the RP 103 in the 8 Ohm version with 2" x 6" mouth, and like them a lot.
