Title: ZKIT2 Fuse Value
Post by RonFranks on 10/13/21 at 18:24:59

I’m building the ZKIT2 as monoblocks with a power transformer for each chassis.  I can’t seem to find the recommended AC line fuse value anywhere.  Can someone please help?

The schematic shows 3 amp for 120VAC and 1.6 amp for 240 VAC. Will post link and image after a couple more messages.

Thanks so much.  One question.  If the transformers heaters are rated at 6.3 VCT 5A, it doesn’t seem that a 3 amp fuse is a high enough value.  Can you explain why a 5 amp draw wouldn’t blow a 3 amp fuse?  I’m guessing the rating and the current draw are quite different, with the actual draw being less.

The 3A fuse is on the 120 VAC side of the transformer. 3A at 120 VAC is way more power than 5A at 6.3 VAC
