Title: CSP3 with 25th mods
Post by piezoman on 08/21/20 at 03:21:51

Does anyone have photos of their CSP3 with 25th mods, showing the 2 voltage regulator tubes?  Just curious on the visual  :)

I would appreciate some being posted, if possible.

Thank you!

Brad

PS.....How much apparent volume increase is there with the addition of the CSP3 in your system [vs. no preamp], as well as weight & tone that is added with the 25th mods?

If interested in seeing where the modded version led, further on in the thread busterfree linked are some pics and videos of the new version of the CSP325 25th Anniversary pre that matches the 25th Anniversary Super Zen amp.

Check out posts 718-728 and posts 750-757.

Relative to your question about apparent volume increase adding a CSP3, responses have started in your thread: preamp - CSP3 volume & weight/tone in General Discussions: https://www.decware.com/cgi-bin/yabb22/YaBB.pl?num=1598148001/0

On my CSP3 I ordered the Standard Beeswax with the Anniversary Mod for $845.

What is the difference between the "Anniversary Mod" and the "25th Anniversary Mod" besides the dual rectifier tubes?

Only one rectifier tube on mine.

The CSP3-25 also only has one rectifier. There are two tubes in the rear on either side of the transformer that are visual aids to the level of the output signal, not rectifiers.

I am 99 percent that underneath the chassis there is a voltage regulation tube for the input tube. I also have a CSP3 that I had built with the 25th Anniversary mods, and there is a voltage tube underneath the chassis for the input tubes, a quite small one.

The main differences are the dual volume controls on the CSP3-25, the green painted chassis with silk-screened information, one additional input for a source (a total of 3), and the fact that the CSP3-25 is NOT also a headphone amp.

I love my CSP3 with the mods--it's the best headphone amp I've ever heard and I actually prefer the plain jane looks, and am only using one input.

Thanks Lon!

So does that make mine a CSP3-25?
If so I'll have to update my profile!!

A few of us were calling the CSP3 with the mods a CSP3-25 BEFORE Steve introduced the matching preamp to the UFO-25 and denoted it as a CSP3-25. Since then I have been referring to my CSP3 as a CSP3 with the 25th Anniversary Mods.
