Title: Replacement Volume pot for SE84UFO3 Mono block
Post by Tapatrick on 07/29/20 at 18:46:35

I need to replace a volume pot on one of my SE84UFO3 Mono blocks (probably will do both at same time). They are dual versions and I've tried both top and bottom tabs but still not working as only kicks in when rotated to 3/4 and above. Does anyone know what value these pots are likely to be so I can order a replacement as there are no markings on it.

Thanks for any help!

Those are 100K audio taper.  You'll want to replace both at the same time so that the tapers exactly match.

Great thanks Steve! I had emailed you but probably best to post here anyways with things like this.

Another question - is it okay to use both inputs on mono amps (the silver an gold) for 2 different input sources? Obviously not running both at same time...

On my Monoblocks one input is a
"pass through" for the other. For example I can run my ZTPRE/ZBIT output in to one output and then run the other "input" to an input of my CSP3 to use as a headphone amp. Will flawlessly play the output of the ZTPRE/ZBIT into my headphones. . . . So I am not sure if you can use it as a second input.

Interesting Lon, didn't know you could do that but I suppose the 2 inputs are connected internally to go through the same circuits.

Both must be possible to use as inputs though. Just wonder if its problematic to have both connected at the same time. Your example would suggest that current flows back out through second 'input' and I suppose this could very well be an issue for the 2nd source as no selector switch is involved to switch between them.
