I fully planned to let it go because everyone is under a lot of stress this year and a little venting never hurts but when it degenerates to the point that it did it doesn't need to be here. Politics divide people. Hobbies bring people together.  Lots of other places on the internet to argue about politics.   BTW, no-one has contacted me about the thread.  I watched it start to develop, took a few days off and my wife read it and suggested I delete it.

Post by Archie on 07/29/20 at 22:11:23 I can see where the strident tone of some posts can turn off people but the underlying sentiment is valid, IMO.  Whether or not these issues should be discussed openly on this Forum is another question and I'd argue that, in general, they shouldn't.  But they are bound to come up, one way or another, from time to time and to sort of brush them off as not worthy of consideration (sewer subjects) will lose you your liberty and country.
