Do I need cryo tubes for the zp3?

No. Cryo processing is an option from some places with some tube types, but it's not at all necessary.

ok thanks….Im also having a hard time understanding all the different set of numbers that go with certain tubes. Like is 12ax7 tubes also  ecc83, 7025, 7729? you get the idea, the list goes on. When I search the 12ax7 a dozen other numbers come up….so do those number work also?

Yes they do I think. I think that Will may have given you this link, but this is very helpful:

This is tube seller Brent Jesse's pages, this is for 12AX7 and you can select from the hello boxes other types.

http://www.audiotubes.com/12ax7.htm

He gives the different numbering for US and Europe and the different types that can be substituted and some info about each. Quite a good reference.

Okay. He is expensive. . . but he's in line with other boutique sellers. I don't buy from them myself, I use ebay mostly.
