Title: Re: New Mapleshade tube dampers Post by martin on 09/27/17 at 16:16:16 I was very surprised to see such a thing. I wasn't aware of the problems it says it corrects, and my first reaction was "really?". But then again, im a gadget junkie. I'll be waiting to see what your impression is of these things. Thanks for posting this! |
Title: Re: New Mapleshade tube dampers Post by Lon on 09/27/17 at 16:36:10 I've used their previous tube dampers, which worked about as well as the tube dampers from Herbie's Audio Lab but were more hazardous to the tubes than Herbie's, so I went on to use Herbie's. . . . |
Title: Re: New Mapleshade tube dampers Post by Archie on 09/27/17 at 17:29:15 I don't know about the EMI aspect but how do brass screws against glass act as a vibration dampener? I'd be afraid they would rattle. |
Title: Re: New Mapleshade tube dampers Post by Tripwr1964 on 09/30/17 at 13:32:24 screws against glass and the extra weight on the pins... i don't know. i've experimented with the herbies (like his design better) but always end up taking them off. seems like the sound gets toooo sterile for me. guess i like a little distortion/vibration! |
