Looks like he feels a lot the same way about this DAC that I do.

My runner up is still the Teac NT-503

Hey LR (and Lon, and everyone else that has commented on the Huron update),

HOLY MOLY! I've refrained from commenting on the changes to my sound since I downloaded Huron about 10 days ago, because I wanted to live with it for a while. I've now had four separate listening sessions, and it's been a revelation in my system. The soundstage has expanded, and the imaging (which has always been a strong point with the DM945s) is just phenomenal. I feel that I've taken a step further into the music, due to increased transparency. I'm not much of a computer geek, but I did take note of the fact that the individual files in the Huron update were not very big. Evidently a lot can be accomplished with just a few kb in the right hands. I wouldn't say that this is like a whole new system, but more like a big jump in the qualities of my system that I most liked. A big thumbs up from me on this update.

Yes, I don't quite hear Huron as transformative as others have, but it's a very good upgrade and keeps my satisfaction with the DirectStream deepening. I love the sound of my system and am so grateful to have it!
