Title: Finished WO32
Post by biggles on 11/18/11 at 03:37:11

Its Finished!

I have clad the WO32 in aussie oak on 5 sides and put glass on the remaining side. My WO32 can be set with the glass or the aussie oak facing up. To connect the amp there are 2 recessed female banana plugs on the glass and timber side. The WO32 rests on a 75mm high stand.

The WO32 sounds amazing for music. I can't pick the point the sub cuts in. It sounds as if the front book self speakers are producing all the sound.

The only bass the WO32 doesn't reproduce well are explosions when watching movies. Tends to sound "slappy" but I knew that was the case before building it.

Cheers Andrew

Gday HT-EXT

The drivers used are - Vifa PL26WR09-08

The box itself is heavy as it is built from 18mm MDF with 12mm of Aussie Oak glued on after the MDF box was finished. Glass is 10mm hardened/toughened. It is attached using 20mm wide double sided glass tape. I can place a wine glass on the box while its working hard with no signs of movement in the liquid in the glass. Cross over is set at approx 60hz.
