Title: CSP2 + Taboo and low efficiency speakers?
Post by markm1111 on 07/28/10 at 03:04:00

Hi

Has anyone tried the CSP2/Taboo combo on lower efficiecny speakers? I know the recommendation is for 90dB or higher, but I have a pair of speakers I love that I don't want to change. At the same time, I would like to try the Taboo with my existing CSP2.

My speakers are Lenehan Audio ML-1+R, and the specs are:

Frequency response: 50 - 25.000Hz +/- 1.5db
Sensitivity: 86dB @ 2.83V/m
Impedance: 8 ohms nominal, minimum 6.5 ohms @ 200Hz
Recommended amplifier power: 20-200W

I won't be listening at very loud levels, and it is in a small room, 2.7m by 3.3m (9x11)

Thanks for any input

Mark M

My TABOO and CSP2 were used with 89db Von Schweikert monitors and the combination was more than adequate. I would go ahead and try.

Well, freight there and back and a restocking fee can make this a not insignificant trial.  89 db is not the same as 86 db. No offense to anyone here, but I recommend calling Steve, his is the most valuable opinion.  He'll know.
