Title: Help needed for 6.5" subs
Post by maff on 03/12/07 at 20:45:13

Hi,
I recently got a pair of 6.5" raptor 6 subs.

http://www.monacor.com/int/en/produktseite_carpower.php?artid=4418&spr=EN&typ=u

Been looking on this site how to scale down the WO build, but am a bit stuck.
My initial thought was to make measurements .65 of the size of the original plans, but the volume is affected dramatically. should i scale it untill i get the right volume in the rear chamber for the sub?

Advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Matt

It sounds fantastic, after completely sealing with silicone and testing properly i was supprised how low and tight the bass was for 6.5" subs.

The final measurements were 22x24x7.5, i simply scaled down until the rear chamber was of that required for my subs. I was lucky it worked, i get no distortion at all.

Excellent scale example.  I have had good experience scaling, and so have you- although others have not.

I wonder why?

web site sais your drivers can take 100wrms each, i hope you have a 400wrms amp on that sexy-ass box.

you will also probably be able to 'tune' that box by slideing it closer and further away from the rear of the car,

even a few inches will effect the 'loading' it has off the rear hatch.

even up to about 1" close will be fine.
