Title: RL1.5s for sale
Post by jtycho on 11/02/06 at 22:58:42

Hello, Soon I'll be going for the RL3.0s, so these have to make way.  These were Steve Deckert's personal RL2.0s, with all internal silver wiring.  The person that sold them to me bought them from Steve, and had them completly upgraded to 1.5s before shipping them to me.  They are exactly the same as 1.5s, with the upgrade of silver wiring.  Pickup in Philadelphia is much preferred, but shipping could possibly be worked out.  Asking $850.  You can reach me at JTNicolosi@comcast.net

I can take pictures if someone requests.  Thanks!

what would you say the silver wiring does for the 1.5's as apposed to stock?

Honestly, I don't really know.  I haven't ever heard stock 1.5s.  I'm sure someone else on this forum knows more than me on this subject.

Hmm, looks like there are at least two other Dec Heads in Philadelphia...maybe we'll have to have a mid-atlantic Decfest?

The Radials are extremely open.  I particularly  love them with acoustic music.  Chamber music sounds very warm but quite dynamic.  When I listen to jazz I can almost see the instruments, it's extremely easy to pinpoint the location of the bass and drums.  The 1.5s are very fast, open, dynamic, and as everyone else has said, they have a huge soundstage.    I have a loft which is about 30' x 25', with 12' ceilings, and the 1.5s do an amazing job of filling this large space.  I just happen to think that the 3.0s will do even a better job.  But forgetting all that, they sound like MUSIC.  Real live living and breathing music.  If you are in the area and you are interested, you could always swing by and give a listen.

Actually unfortunately im in Fort LAuderdale.  Family is in Lansdale however ( i grew up there)
Thanks.  Im sure the silver is additive.  I owned magnepans at one point and the planar/ribbon drivers loved a touch of silver in the chain.

No problem.  I would think the difference is subtle, like getting slightly better speaker cable.

These are no longer for sale. :(   I took the drive from Boston to Philadelphia on 1/28/07 and picked them up.  These really are amazing speakers! :)
