Title: WTB: SE84C or CS Post by JimJ on 02/12/06 at 06:20:57 Hey all... Is anyone interested in selling a SE84C or CS? I'm looking for one in excellent cosmetic and operational condition. Preferably with the stock output transformers. Let me know via PM here or "jimj" "at" "vt.edu". Thanks. |

It includes about 15 different tubes and the hardwood base. If you're interested in purchasing, just mention you are a decware forum member and I'll throw in the shipping... Cheers Grant |

Title: Re: WTB: SE84C or CS Post by Grant Robinson on 02/13/06 at 02:04:48 the CS can be strapped together and I don't see why the EX wouldn't since the mod involves changing the output transformers only. The design layout itself does not change. Cheers Grant |
Title: Re: WTB: SE84C or CS Post by Rap on 02/13/06 at 11:48:53 It does change the primary impedance of the amp and would move the operating point from 8-16 ohm to 16-32 ohm nominal if strapped in serries (the recomended aproach) to mate the EX to a 8-16 ohm load. YouŽd nead to parallel strap them if you want to keep the 8-16 ohm impedance, but that suposedly degrades the sound some. |
