Acceptable rectifier tubes for SE34I.3 (Read 600 times)

busterfree Senior Member Posts: 66	Acceptable rectifier tubes for SE34I.3 06/16/12 at 17:09:05 What are acceptable rectifier tubes for the SE34I.3 besides the 5U4G? Can I use the GZ34/5AR4? I do not want to just try it and ruin a good thing.

Good question. I used GZ34s and 5U4G-STs in my SE34.2+ but can't say on the new amp. And I can't recall if the option was in the amp description then or if I got verification from a call, but it was definitely OK with that amp. I am speculating it is OK, but a call to Decware would sort it out if noone shows up who knows for sure here.

I'm done with the 5Y3. I only have one around here in case I need it someday. The DECWARE amplifiers are moving towards the 5U4 these days.
