Thanks for the response.  After I figured out that I had the wrong type of rectifier and then I added your "gizmo" to my Lowthers, I couldn't be happier with the performance of the Zen.  I have a Cary 300 SEI with enough "boutique" tubes to buy a car that barely edges out the Zen and only in the bass.

Thank you for the high praise, can't think of any way to better describe a Zen Triode amplifier.

Those Cary Grant amps are mean to rectifiers.
