Cable LOAD question
11/18/06 at 15:17:03

Will having different cables on left and right channels of a Taboo or Select make any difference to the operation of the amp? (ribbon & wire type cables)

In testing some NEW cables, I'm thinking about hooking up both cables at the same time.

Thanks,
S.

Steve: I've tried Goertz ribbons on one side, and a length of Wireworld on the other, on my Select, with no apparent ill effects.

If the run is short enough and the reactive components aren't very, well, reactive (sorry), that should be fine

Most amplifiers shouldn't have a problem, you'd have more problems running two different speakers, but I've done that and my amp seemed fine (only did it for a couple of days).

How about using two different types of IC's? that would be an interesting test. Never tried it but I am curious now that I have thought of it.

What kind of gauge are the wires you are using, if you don't mind me asking.

Hope that was somewhat helpful,
Ado
