I'm guessing that this is also a function of the speaker motor.  For example, my Altecs are very highly damped due to a very large magnet, so I would think they require less damping factor from the amp than a smaller-magnet 15".

Isnīt this why tubes work so well with fullrange speakers? Most fullrangers are highly damped due to the big/strong magnet and donīt sound so good with highly-damped amps like most of the SS verity

To all who responded to my inquiry about the damping factor on a Zen, thanks for all the info. It is very inspiring to be able to access so much info and opinions regarding this hobby. That's the way it should be. So many get caught up in all the hype about a product that they forget to use the ears on the side of thier head. It all comes down to how it sound to you, in your room, with all the gear you use. Keep the hobby alive. Kicking butt with 2 watts!!!!
