MINI TORII - Question on the MiniT OC2 Regulator Tube>

Hello Steve, have a question on the OC2 regulator tube. I just received my MiniTorii (S/N# 026) last week and after set up & power up I observed that the left OC2 tube is almost twice as bright as the right OC2 tube. Wanted to know if this is normal(?) can the intensity be that different between the two(?), or, is it an indication that the dim tube maybe is weak or possibly defective. I do not have access to a tube tester so I am at a loss to explain the difference. The left (bright) tube is labeled Raytheon 10499 (orange label) and the right (dim) tube has no clear brand markings but barley readable is labeled with 10499 (yellow color) . If I flip-flop the tubes to opposite side of the amp the orange label Raytheon is always the brighter of the two regulator tubes. This observation is very consistent over the past 5 days.

How strong is the signal from the RCA output jacks? I tried connecting the output jacks on the Mini to the input of my CSP2 to listen through headphones. This was instead of connecting the source directly to the CSP2. I turned the volume on the CSP2 all the way up and heard virtually nothing.

Hi Steve,
I just bought a used SE34-I, and acting on your advice of always having spare tubes on hand, i am also going to buy a set or two of Signal tubes (the amp comes with a spare set of Mullard EL34).
So i was wondering if the first gen SE34-I is compatible with the same signal tubes as the latest gen SE34I.2+...
If my question comes across as a newbie's, it's because i am one

Thanks
Nicolas

Based on my measurements I have two questions:
1. How was the frequency response measured? I could not get the stated 20-20K figure, but only 40-20K +-3dB at best. If the bass switch is not engaged the frequency response is 80-20K +-3dB. I used the HDT speakers as an active load.
2. How would you explain the phase shift up to 90 degrees (averaged) at frequencies below 250Hz?

Please see my measurements at http://www.decware.com/cgi-bin/yabb22/YaBB.pl?num=1243915681/31#31

Hey Match yes I remember you, Its been awhile. I hope things are going well for you.
Match from back in the day of bo and John in CR, Sam in the USA and the others that now seem to be extinct. Bo did drop by for a bit and seems to have dropped off again.
Now that I don't build anymore and no time to research I just stop by for the latest release and discussions.

Gex
